Home Team rewards

Accountability, cheered on by the people kids look up to.

The hardest part of a Scoreo session is looking honestly at your own mistakes. Home Team makes that the part students get rewarded for. When a student signs their session, a message from a hometown athlete or community figure is waiting for them.

Why we reward the process

The student with the hardest month has the most reason to finish.

Most school rewards go to the students who were already winning. Scoreo rewards the behavior that turns students around: tracking your own work, admitting what went wrong and committing to fix it. That is why the reward comes at the end of every session, good month or bad, and never depends on the grade.

Research backs it. Students who monitor their own learning achieve more, and young people with someone in their corner skip less school. See the research.

How it works

Four steps from the stadium to the student.

01

We invite the hometown heroes

Through team community-relations offices, foundations, colleges, local leaders and the school district, we invite athletes, coaches and community figures students already look up to.

02

They record a few short messages

Not a video for every child. Each partner records a small set: a great month, a tough month the student owned, a comeback. It takes them an afternoon.

03

The message plays when the session is signed

Good month or hard month, the student who finishes the self-review honestly hears from their hero, with their own first name on screen.

04

Every signed session is a free entry

Signed sessions count as entries in community giveaways donated by partners: signed jerseys, game tickets, a player visiting the winning classroom.

Community giveaways

One signed session, one free entry.

Giveaways are run as community-relations programs: no purchase, no payment and nothing to buy, ever. Prizes are donated by partners, every giveaway has written official rules, and students take part only with a parent or guardian’s consent.

For teams, athletes and sponsors

A community program with a scoreboard.

Teams and athletes already invest in local schools. Home Team ties that investment to something measurable: how many students tracked their own work, owned their mistakes and signed a commitment this month.

WHAT PARTNERS GET

Monthly totals of sessions completed in the schools they support, a program they can point to with pride, and a simple ask: a few short recordings and donated prizes.

WHAT PARTNERS NEVER GET

Student records, scores, names or contact details. Messages are general. The portal adds the student’s first name on screen. Nothing about a student leaves the school’s program.

Home Team participation varies by market. Athletes, teams and organizations appear only with their written permission, and Scoreo Learning is not affiliated with or endorsed by any league or team. Giveaway rules are reviewed for each state before a giveaway runs.
